TRY THE PILOT JOB FOR ONE DAY
No previus experince is needed. Everyting you have to do is to be over 18 years old, not be over 240 cm long and weight more than 300 kilo. It´s perfect if you want to try if the job is right for you, or you just want to experience the feeling of flying a helicopter. You ca do it your selfe, or why not give it away as a present or experience for one, two or three friends.
1. You arrive at Säve Airport and meet up with a helicopter pilot and instructure. The first thing to do it have a cup of coffie, go through the weather situation and the plans for the day. If you are lucky you will meet other students and pilots from or to flight – ask them meny questions and try to play cool.
2. Then its time for a short breif of flight theory. You go through three of our most important subjects. Principle of flight (POF) were we learn how, why and when we can fly, Navigation (GNAV) så we go to the right places and the rules in the air (Air Law) so we don´t do anything stupid or put people in danger.
3. Now it´s time to get to know the helicopter. In the hangar we do the ”walk around” with all the outside checks and daily inspection. Then we take the helicopter outside and you will learn how to fill up gas. At last we do a couple of last checks before whe take place in the cockpit.
4. Inside cockpit we do the ”before flight” checks on controls. When everyting is working as it should we start, lift up and fly away. Over the beatiful irlands of the west coast we will practise on climping, speeding and turning. When we turn back to the airport you will be able to fly it your selfe, do the approach and together we will land smoothly.
